Live.Laugh.Love. - We Want To Know Wednesday

Happy Wednesday everyone! I hope the first part of the week has treated you all well! It was a very busy weekend here. Went to the gym both days and cleaned both days. Sunday we went to visit my Oma to bring her one of her Christmas presents that we had to exchange. I was then put in charge of helping my step grandfather and Oma with various computer problems... I'm not quite sure how I became THAT person.

It was so cold this weekend, but I loved it. I made a beef stew in the crock pot, so the house smelled amazing. Once we completely cleaned out the fridge/freezer, it looks like we have no food. It is kind of sad really, but so nice not to have clutter in there... I don't understand how they can get so messy so fast!

The trainers at the gym cornered my mom and I Sunday (okay, not cornered). Long story short, we are now signed up for our free torture training session this coming Sunday... so if you never hear from me again, you'll know why!

That's it for my very busy, yet uneventful weekend. I am linking up with Queso, Mamarazi, and CrazyMama for WWTK Wednesday - you should too!

{1} Which of the following phrases characterizes how you live your life?
a. You only live once
b. test the water before jumping in
c. stability is the key to life

C.. all the way - I am a stable (at least in my opinion, boyfriend might say differently) person, and need my life to also be that way. I need to know what the plan is AT ALL TIMES. Call me crazy, although as previously stated, I do not think I am. However, this is just for day to day life. I like a mix of spontaneous activity to occasionally be thrown in the mix. However, it should still be planned after spontaneously being decided upon ;)

{2} What were you doing the last time you had a really good laugh?

I laugh all the time, so it is hard to pinpoint. I think everything is funny, so it is not hard to make this girl chuckle uncontrollably.

{3} Who is the last person you hugged?

I am not sure... I'm not much of a hugger. I don't tend to initiate them unless I am leaving somewhere like my boyfriend's house or a family gathering.

{4} What song always makes you happy when you hear it?

There are a couple. It's a Wonderful World is the number one song though. It is such a positive song, how can you not be happy?!

{5} What's the first thing you thought about this morning?

What time is it?! On my days off I don't set an alarm and always think I sleep until noon... Although, I have never slept that late unless for some reason I stayed up WAY WAY too late, like playing Family Feud on the computer with my best friend in high school until 6 am, because we're THAT cool.

Have a wonderful rest of the week!

Hunger Games

Any other fans of the series out there? I'm ashamed to say I spent all day in bed reading the third book today and I am halfway done. I'm at the point where you want to curse at specific characters and tell them that is not how you envisioned certain events panning out.

If you haven't read it or think that it won't be any good, because you're over the age of 20, I say give it a shot. I wasn't sure either and I love it. I'm kind of sad that in only half a book I will be done with the series and only have the movies (which I hope are good and not too cheesy like another series I might also have read) to look forward to.

What's the next craze people?! Wizards - check, Vampires - check, People that I find hard to describe at this moment, but live in separate districts and have "hunger games" - check...

I think when it comes to reading I will always love these types of books - the easy to read, but very captivating kind... I also love, love, love Nicolas Sparks. I'm a sap when it comes to books.

What are y'alls favorite type of books?

Fill in the Blank Friday!

I am linking up with Lauren as I usually like to do on Friday! This weekend, I am actually off. While I wish I had exciting plans, I intend to get a lot of cleaning done that has been neglected since during the week when I am off, I apparently don't think cleaning is an option ;)

For instance, the Christmas tree is STILL up. I do love Christmas and would love to have the tree up year round, but it is starting to make the room look a little bit too cluttered :-/ We get a real one and this one has really held up well this year, so it will be kind of sad to see it go!

Now onto the blanks!

1.   The last thing I ate was  Breakfast. I had an egg sandwich along with a caramel vanilla creme k-cup (my favorite)... YUM

2.   The last song I listened to was  a song off of the new Daughtry CD... number 4. I am bad with names. I got the CD for Christmas and I LOVE LOVE it. One of my favorite artists!

3.  Using the letters in my name I can spell  [Christine] ... Christ, heist, tire, its, tis, his, her, hers, shrine, cent... okay, I am HORRIBLE at this, see any other words?!

4.  If I had to dress in one color for the rest of my life I would pick   gray - it matches so much, just add a pop of color with a scarf, belt, shoes and it looks super cute!

5.  If you were to look in my bag right now you'd find  My fitbook, wallet, keys (work and car/house), ipod, fill it in book, lady stuff, glasses, hand cream, no gum (I say this, because every time I go to the store I go in KNOWING I need some and forget by the time I get to the register... where the gum is staring me in the face!), pens (I have a problem...am obsessed), crystal lite packets... that's about it, I got the purse for Christmas and only moved in recently, so it has not had a chance to become a mess yet!

6.  When I finish filling in the blanks I'm going to  clean my desk some, finish my coffee, figure out what I want to do the rest of the day. I should get in a workout, I am thinking Just Dance today so it will be fun!

7.  My all time favorite song to dance to is  I am not a big dancer --- at least not to the point that I have a song that I associate with it. I do love the cheesy ones - chicken dance, macarena (sorry, I have NO idea how to spell that), cha cha slide, electric slide... you better believe when I get married, these songs WILL be on the lineup! The Twist always makes me want to get down...

Happy Friday everyone! You should go link up :)

WWTK Wednesday!

Happy Wednesday everyone! I hope you've had a good start to the week! Almost to the weekend, and it is my weekend off, so I am particularly excited :)

What is your most commonly used word or phrase when you are frustrated?

What the eff... and no I am not trying to keep it PG on here (although I would), but I really say that. I don't use curse words, ever, well unless I accidentally say a** instead of gas or sh*t instead of shirt... happens to everyone, right?

What random question do you usually get from strangers or casual acquaintances?

Honestly, I'm not really sure. If they for some reason see my last name, they want to know how to pronounce it and then go on to try and say it themselves, so then I give them the dumbed down version that everyone says.

Did you ever correspond by mail with anyone, who? Do you still have the letters?

My freshman roommate from college and I wrote letters quite frequently when she transferred to another school. I really enjoyed it. It's a way to get your thoughts on paper and you actually have time to thing, because it takes longer to write a letter than type an email.

Do you dance in public?  why or why not?

That depends... I'm very VERY shy, but sometimes I will pretend dance. Other times, like at weddings and such, I will dance a little. Or if like the past wedding I went to I decided it was a good idea to drink, which I rarely do, and I danced a lot that night. I think I will just stick to Just Dance on my wii in the comfort of my living room!

What is your favorite kind of chapstick/lip balm?

Well, this is tough. I love Nivea, C.O. Bigelow, and recently started using one of those EOS (is that right?) chapstick ball things... I do like the original brand too.

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Weekend Recap

This past weekend had its ups and downs. I was at work all weekend so I did not have the chance to do much outside of that.

Saturday I did make it to the gym with mi madre before work. It was good, burnt 439 calories. I also worked out my legs. They are still yelling at me, little do they know it is their turn again tonight, since yesterday my arms had their turn. It was a great workout.

The bad thing was that we planned out our entire week of food this week (yes, I live at home with my mom if I hadn't mentioned it, with all of my loans and only a part time job, it is the smart choice. It is a very chill living environment with just her and I, so I do not mind it) and bought all of the ingredients. Well Saturday night one of the cats jumped up on the counter and spilled something on the electrical outlet. It started sparking, so we turned the breaker off and low and behold the stove/oven are on the same breaker, so no meal plan this week until that is taken care of!

However, things are looking up as of yesterday, so we won't harp on that. Things will work out in the end.

I am just so excited that I am slowly getting my drive to want to workout back. If I can get to where I was mentally in 2010 where I wanted sweets, but knew it wasn't okay and didn't crave them as much, I will be a happy camper. Although have you all tried Nature Valley Granola Thins:

I have had the dark chocolate ones - amazing! Just enough sweets to satisfy you. However, I won't lie, I always want another, but refrain.

Well I am going to get some things done around the house and then watch a movie. Gym tonight :) Motivate me!

Questions Galore - Two Link Ups

This week's fill in the blank Friday is VERY fitting, because I was off yesterday and am off today!

1.   One of my favorite things to do when I have free time is  catch up on TV shows, watch movies, BLOG, and think. I do too much thinking though.

2.   When I have free time I tend to be a bum - working in retail and being on my feet and dealing with (sometimes rude) people all day makes me just want to seclude myself from the world when I am off. I do also like to take the time to hang out with the boyfriend, since my schedule is always out of whack and we don't get to see each other as often as we would like.

3.  If I had an entire day completely to myself I would an entire day... hmmmm... Let's say an entire day where I actually feel like leaving the house. I would want to start the day at the GYM and get ready there. Following this I would want to go to the movies and see something that nobody wants to see with me. Then I would want to walk around any store that sells Vera Bradley or crafting supplies (random). Then I would go home and snuggle with my pup and watch movies while ordering something take out --- to obviously cancel out the gym from that morning ;)

4.  I would prefer to spend my free time (alone or with others...)  partially alone and partially with others. Being alone gets boring, I like to talk! As long as I am doing something relaxing, then I don't mind sharing my free time!

5.  Most of my free time happens during the week. I work in retail, so weekends are scarce for me. It is nice during the holidays though, because I can do my shopping while other people are at work!

6.  The best thing about free time is  that you don't have any obligations. It has been about a year since I've graduated from grad school and I am so glad that I am able to just do nothing when I am free instead of having some sort of school deadline.

7.  The next time I have free time I should probably  apply to more jobs but instead, I'll probably procrastinate more, although I have been doing some applying. I just wish the process wasn't so tedious - I have a resume, yet I have to fill the same information out online!! AH.

Now to go spend my free time watching Bridesmaids which I got from Nextflix yesterday and plan out how I want my workout regime to go so that I have the best results! I am starting back up tomorrow! Oh and I love my free time, because it is typically when I take the time to blog. I need to get it together and use these days to write future posts, so I am more into the blogosphere!

Second Link up - 5 Questions Friday - this is my first time linking up to this one, I am not sure how I ended up on  My Little Life's blog, but I'm glad I did, seems like a fun one :D Without further ado:

1. What is the weather like where you are and do you like it?

It has finally gotten chilly - I love colder weather, because it means I can finally show my obsession with scarves some love and I can wear boots!

2. When you're sick what do you seek comfort from?

Whining... haha. I am such a whiny sick person, I guess because I rarely get sick. I just lay there and watch TV or lay in the dark.

3. What do you need to do before the end of the month?

Ideally it would be amazing if I could find a full-time job by the end of the month. Other than that, really get my workout regime started back up. I hear it takes 20 something days to form a habit.

4. Have you ever served on a jury?

I have. My first time being summoned and I was selected. I don't even remember how old I was - I think maybe right after I graduated from undergrad. It was a DUI case. Apparently I scared the defendant, because she said she couldn't "read" me and I had an intense stare... that's just how I listen.. Lol

5. If you could be any animal, what would you be and why?

Oh my, this question is difficult. I think I'd want to be a penguin. So poised and cute and such great dancers.. Haha - okay maybe just in Happy Feet!

Have a wonderful weekend! I will be at work!!

2012

2012 pretty much snuck up on me.

2011 was not a bad year - although there are some things I wish I could change. With hard work and determination I hope to accomplish those things in 2012.

I am trying not to call these resolutions, because I associate that word with things you want to get done, but that always fall off by March - if not before.

I didn't completely stop working out in 2011, but had I kept up with how I was in 2010, I would most likely be at my goal weight now instead of still about 60 pounds away. So to the me of 2012 - I promise you this: You will lose those 60 pounds - hopefully halfway through the year - but definitely by the end of 2012!

I also plan to apply to jobs more aggressively. I love my current job - but part-time sales leader in retail is not where I saw myself at the age of 25. I went to college, I went to graduate school, and I want more to show for that. So, 2012 - I hope to see some changes in the career aspect of my life as well!

A healthy, fit, full-time employed person is who I want to become in 2012!

Wish me luck. :)

Germany Part II

So.. I have been a slacker. Retail + holidays = so little time to just sit! I am off for TWO days in a row! What?! I decided to do a little revamp of blog - thoughts? I was going for simple, yet stylish. Let's get this Germany part II trip done finally!

Well, my favorite part of my trip to Germany was the Rhein Tour I did with my grandfather. It was beautiful and therefore this post will be primarily pictures! I don't really have any explanation for them, because I was too amused to pay attention to the person talking. Next time I want to bring a journal to write down what each picture is, so that I can have some background information.

We started off in Bingen, Germany and finished in Koblenz, Germany. Here... join me for a ride :)

My Opa at the train station.

Where we left to go to Bingen

They had SO MANY Vineyards

 Let the Castle Pictures Begin!

My favorite castle!

Car we saw on the way to the train station - very old - made of plastic!

Hope you all enjoyed the pictures!
