New Year Fill in the BLANK!

1.   New Years is  a time for new beginnings. Yes, you can say it is just another day to continue on your current path, but why think of it that way. You have the opportunity to say this year I plan to do THIS differently. It is up to you to make it happen :)

2.   One of my New Year's resolutions will be to find a full time job. I have to do this! Anyone know of any openings in the Atlanta, GA area?! :) ... blog networking... haha

3.  A New Year's resolution I've made in the past was to lose weight. Isn't it always? Until I reach my goal weight, which will hopefully be in 2012, this will be a resolution of my LIFE!

4. The most time consuming resolution I ever made was  the losing weight one. You have to put in a lot of effort. It does not come to you for free!

5.  This year I will be spending New Year's Eve  figuring out what I want to do on New Year's Eve. Honestly, I just want a relaxing night at home. If I were a party animal, which I am not, I still have to work Sunday!

6.  If I could wish one thing for my new year it would be  to accomplish new things that I will be happy to say I've done.

7.  2012 is going to be  amazing. That's what I intend to make it for myself and hopefully those around me anyway!

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Fill in the Blank Friday Holiday Edition

1.   The holiday season is  a special time for family and friends where you show those around you love and appreciation and think back on what has happened the past year. Oh AND a time to eat a lot of food, celebrate Jesus, give (and maybe receive a little too), and to watch sappy Hallmark movies.

2.   Snow makes me happy and scared. Living in Georgia, you don't see snow often, but when you do, you stay off of the roads if possible, because 1. people already drive crazy down here, and 2. our cars are not equipped for that kind of weather! However, I love love snow!

3.  The best comfort food to eat when it's cold out is  tomato and basil soup with grilled cheese sandwiches. Yum!

4. Winter is the best time for  wearing flannel pjs, using your snuggie... or both, cuddling with your puppy while drinking tea or hot chocolate and watching a good movie!

5.  I can hardly wait for  next weekend, when I'm making... hehe or persuading the boyfriend to help my find a perfect tree and then my mom and I decorating it!

6.  When it comes to holiday gifts I prefer to  spoil those I love. I spend WAY too much money during this time of year. I also love that where I work participates in the giving tree and I am always in charge, so I spend so much on the family we get to make sure they get what they need/want! However.... I do love a to be spoiled a little too!

7.  If I were to rate my excitement about the holiday season on a scale from 1-10, I would say I am at about a  9... it would be 10 if I did not work in retail. People can get so mean this time of year. It baffles my mind how they act, because most of the time it does not change the situation in their favor and they live angry and I'm left frustrated. BUT there are more happy people than grouchy, so I still love this tie of year!

Turkey dinner turkey dinner... WWTKW

Photobucket

Here are this week's questions:

1. What is your favorite food item at Thanksgiving?

Pumpkin Pie.. Hands down or stuffing.

2. What is your least favorite?

Turkey :-/ I love it, but not Thanksgiving style.

3. Do you have a favorite pie? (Share a recipe if you want or just tell us about it and make us drool)

Pumpkin pie

And my Memere makes an awesome chocolate pie. It's amazing.

4. Do you have any Thanksgiving traditions?

Starting last year, running the Gobble jog 5k. 1. Because of the name. 2. Because of the shirt. 3. Exercise. I guess!

5. Black Friday shopping? Do you participate in the delightful running through the stores in the wee hours or the morning madness or hibernate at home and shop online?

I work on Black Friday. So I do not participate in the shopping. Last year I bought a tv online. :) same price, less crazy.

1. Do you have any musical talents?

Music has always been a big part of my life. I've played the Saxophone since I was in 6th grade. I actually hadn't picked it up since I graduated, until this past Monday. I was surprised I didn't completely suck!

I also teach myself random things on piano and the guitar.

I like to think I can sing. Just not American Idol, X Factor, or The Voice worthy!

2. What role, if any, does music have in your life?

It has always been a great way of expression. Songs have a way of explaining the feelings you never know how to express.

3. What is your all time favorite song?

It's a Wonderful World - Louis Armstrong

4. Do you sing in the shower?

Sing AND dance!

5. Has a song ever made you cry?

All the time. I'm a baby!

Exciting News

So, I have decided to start a little shop on Etsy. I currently just have one item, but as I make more things, I hope to add more items to it. It is nice to be able to just have one thing. If it does well yay, if it doesn't, I'd be sad, but not mad. I already have the materials, so I am not out any extra money other than to post it.

I hope you all check it out. I made one for a lady at work for secret Santa and thought that these would make very cute inexpensive gifts for Christmas or any occasion.

My Etsy Shop

Hope you love it, if not, lie ;)

Hope everyone has had a great day!

WWTKW - Halloween... Shmalloween

Photobucket

{1} How did you celebrate Halloween? Trick or treating? Adult party? Trunk or treat?

I am not a huge Halloween participant. The only thing that I really participated in was trick or treat at work. We handed out candy to the little kids on Saturday. They were adorable.

{2} What candy is your favorite/the first thing you steal from the kids?

Ohhh. Skittles, M&Ms, Sweet Tarts.... apparently I like packs of candy versus bars... haha. Although, this girl will eat some Twix or Kit Kats. Mmmm... Candy, get in my belly.

{3} What kind of candy do you give out, is it your favorite? or something you know you won't be tempted to eat?

None. We don't get trick or treaters. However, I would give out my favorites, because I believe I like candy that kids like, so I want them to be happy :) and for me to be happy when I sneak a few. I always hated getting that nasty candy that I've never heard of! Yes, candy is expensive, but come on, this is once a year!

I did buy candy for trick or treat at work. I bought combo packs of the best stuff. Skittles, starbursts, m&ms, snickers, hershey's, etc.

{4} How soon after Halloween do you take down decorations and put away costumes?

No need, we don't decorate or dress up. We live on a busy road, so kids have never come here to trick or treat anyway. Sadface. I'd go all out if I knew we'd get trick or treaters.

{5} When do you decorate for the next holiday?

We try to wait until Thanksgiving before we decorate for Christmas. We don't really decorate for Thanksgiving. We pretty much use this time to get the house Christmas ready. Lol.

I would decorate the day Halloween is over if I could. I LOVE Christmas. We had a floor set at work Sunday and we decorated the store for Christmas and we started playing Christmas music yesterday. Love it! It puts a smile on my face :) Although, some customers are not at thrilled...

Head on over to any of these lovely ladies pages to participate in WWTK Wednesday: Alicia (Queso)Mamarazzi, or Crazymama.

Have a wonderful Wednesday! I know I will, I'm off for the first time in 8 days and I plan to be a bum in pajamas ALL day! If my laptop was working, I wouldn't even be at my desk right now!
